Hello, Team Alaska!
Kevin here. I arrived in Fairbanks late last night to a still-bright, late-night sky—Interior Alaska this time of year gets around 22 hours of sunlight each day! (Just wait until you see what this much sunlight does to the size of produce at the farmers’ market.) The days are warm and the nights are pleasantly cool. The perfect temperature, in fact, for snuggling into a sleeping bag with full bellies after a fun-filled day.
I am happy to report that I have already seen a family of three moose emerge from the spruce and birch trees at dusk (i.e., midnight) to wade and drink from a nearby pond. I was enthralled, and watched them from a safe distance for nearly 20 minutes. We have many such wildlife spottings to look forward to!

Over the next few days I will be meeting with our friends at the farm and gathering supplies and foodstuffs for our adventure, so that when you arrive with Anna we can hit the ground running with all we have planned.
Anna and I are both so excited to meet and get to know you all. In our humble opinion, there is no better way to bond with new friends than by sharing new experiences in an utterly inspiring place, and then reflecting on those experiences around a campfire of crackling birch logs with a hearty meal you’ve prepared together.
Stay tuned and see you soon!
Kevin
